Dental sandblasting aluminium oxide powder

Aluminium oxide sandblasting powder is suitable for the restoration of dental ceramic dentures. Especially for bonding zirconia substrate and decorating zirconia ceramic materials.

In dental restoration surgery, the bonding strength of the zirconia substrate and the veneer porcelain material plays a crucial role in the restoration. Using white aluminium oxide sandblasting powder (alumina sandblasting powder) as a sandblasting material is a common surface treatment method in industrial use. In dental medicine, the high-speed particle flow with aluminium oxide get following functions:

remove surface impurities,

increase the roughness of the material surface,

reduce the contact angle of the material surface,

enhance wettability, and improve the affinity of the two materials

At the same time, the surface area is increased and the surface stress state is changed.  So that the contact area and mechanical fitting of the zirconia base porcelain and the veneering porcelain are increased. Besides, the bonding strength of the contact surface of the two materials is improved.

The cemented intraoral ceramics are broken or peeled off occasionally. The alumina sandblasting operation can remove the rotten denture structure and perform surface treatment on the broken ceramic dentures to prepare for the next step of restoration.

Normally, the aluminium oxide goes with fused aluminium oxide.  It is known as white fused alumina in the industrial fields. The most used grits are 80 mesh, 110 mesh, 150 mesh, 320 mesh, 600 mesh (150micorn, 100micorn, 80micron, 90micron, 50micron, 30micron). The suspension treated aluminium oxide sandblasting powder has high purity, no impurities. In the meantime, it will get an effective sandblasting operation.
